Wardrobes
When it comes to wardrobes, there are a few decisions to be made. Decisions like how the doors will look, how the internals will be laid out, the extent of drawers, tall or short hanging, number of shelves to be included. any special type of compartments for drawers.
One item that does need to be considered is whether to include hinged or sliding doors and what impact this has on both the room and the internal layout. At Arthouse Interiors, we have worked on many types of robes, from very simple ones to bespoke robes with custom detailing. The factors that need to be considered when it comes to robe doors are:
📌 Is there sufficient circulation for hinged doors? Will bedside table placement be compromised? How close is the robe to the bed/desk or other bedroom or study items
📌 Is there sufficient depth for a robe with sliding doors, as the sliding door tracks do take up room, varying between 2 and 3 door tracks
📌 What sort of detailing will the door have, can be applied to both a hinged or sliding door, how will this change
📌 Door handles, how will they look or work with either, note only some types of handles can be used for sliding doors
📌 Clearance needs to be provided internally for drawers to be able to open with both types
📌 Where will mirror placement occur? And yes, providing the mirrors are carefully consider, nicer mirror/s can be incorporated into a sliding door robe door
📌 Providing they are not too weighty, additional items can be hung from a hinged door (internally), including a mirror to the inside face of the door.
